Baby Scan Studio, 1 The Glenmore Centre, Moat Way, Ashford, Kent TN24 0TL
Our cervical length scan is a specialised pregnancy scan designed to assess the risk of early or preterm labour. Available from 16 weeks of pregnancy through to full term, this scan is often recommended for those with specific risk factors or who require closer monitoring.
A cervical length scan is particularly advised if you have a history of late miscarriage, are expecting twins or multiple babies, or have previously had surgery on your cervix. Measuring the length of the cervix helps identify any early changes that may require further medical support.
What’s Included in Your Cervical Length Scan:
2D ultrasound scan, performed transvaginally to provide the most accurate and clear measurements
Precise measurement of the cervix is used to assess cervical length and the potential risk of early labour
Wellbeing check of your baby, offering added reassurance
Two black and white ultrasound images to take home
A cervical length scan provides valuable information and peace of mind, particularly in higher-risk pregnancies, and supports early decision-making if additional care is needed.
Our sonographers are highly skilled & experienced in pregnancy ultrasound scanning, and able to offer trans-abdominal and trans-vaginal scans. While most ultrasound scans are performed over the tummy (abdominal), sometimes a trans- vaginal scan is necessary. A Cervical Length Scan will be performed trans-vaginally and our sonographers will always explain clear the process and obtain your consent.
