Baby Scan Studio Ashford ltd was established in 2011. We are a private healthcare provider of Pregnancy Ultrasound Scan’s in Ashford-Kent. We are specialised in and offer ultrasound scans, providing reassurance on the well-being at every stage of your pregnancy.

Our scans are performed “only” by fully qualified, NHS-registered and regulated Sonographers, which follow the latest safety guidelines.

Our top priority with all our scan packages is to offer you a high-quality and affordable healthcare service in relation to both yourself and your baby’s well-being.

PLEASE ATTEND TO ALL OF YOUR NHS SCANS APPOINTMENTS. OUR SCANS WILL NOT REPLACE YOUR NHS APPOINTMENTS.

What to Expect

Prior to Arrival

Please drink plenty of water before arrival, especially if your chosen package is before 20 weeks. A full bladder is recommended for the early dating scans (abdominal scan) and it will improve the quality of the images on the day.
With the scan packages booked after 20 weeks it is not required to have a full bladder.
Family members/friends are more than welcome to join your appointment. You can bring 3 guests with you. ( in total 4 including yourself) children are welcome too.
If you have been ill in the 48 hours leading up to your appointment, please contact us and will reschedule our appointment.
You must be an adult (18 years old or over); if you are a child (16 or 17 years old), a responsible adult must accompany you to your appointment. A responsible adult is defined as a person who is of or over the age of 18 years and is your parent, step-parent, legal guardian, grandparent or a person who is acting in place of your parent and who could reasonably be expected to exercise responsible supervision of you. A child is anyone who has not reached the age of 18 years. We cannot scan anyone under the age of 16.
If you'd prefer a male or female Sonographer, let us know prior to your appointment.

On Arrival

On arrival you will be given a consent form which we would ask you kindly to read thoroughly, complete and sign. A printable version is available on our webpage should you require sight, we are happy to assist you.
At the point of scanning, our Sonographer will run through some final checks and may ask some additional questions relating to your pregnancy history and the reason for your visit. For confidentiality purposes we will ask these questions in the treatment room and discuss these in private.

YOUR SCAN

We will start each scan with a well-being check, because you and your baby’s well-being is our highest priority.
Please be advised we only scan you for long enough to achieve the purpose of your appointment. Our aim is to protect both the baby and you and follow all the medical /ultrasound scanning updated guidelines.
During the scanning process the Sonographer will guide you both verbally and visually and will provide you with information about your baby’s well-being.
All our well-being checks include confirmation of single or multiple pregnancies; heartbeat; placenta position; the amount of amniotic fluid; a general well-being check of baby’s organs; a check of your ovaries and your cervix etc.
After the initial general well-being check has been completed, we will progress with any selected additional gender confirmation or 4d scan imaging.
In the case where our Sonographer suspects any abnormalities: in the first instance we will explain our findings and provide you with a report and will then refer you to your nearest NHS hospital to receive further checks/scan.
Here at Baby Scan Studio, our Team are only fully experienced and qualified registered Sonographers (male and female sonographers). Please inform us at the time of booking if you have any preference for the gender of your Sonographer. A chaperone service can be provided on request.

We will provide you with images of your baby and a report in case of referral.

If we can’t complete your 4d Scan Package and can’t obtain any 4d images, we will downgrade your scan package to the growth scan package.

We will offer free-of-charge rebook appointments for gender scan packages and 4d scan packages if they are not finalised on the day due to the baby's position.
